Mayor of Perm Aleksey Demkin greeted the teaching community, schoolchildren and parents on the Day of Knowledge
Photo by Vitaly Koksharov The educational establishments in Perm held festive events dedicated to the start of the school year, this year the schoolchildren, their parents and teachers participating in traditional ceremonial assemblies.
On September 1, 2022 the schools greeted over 133,000 pupils, including about 16,000 first-graders. This year most schools offer a number of innovations- new equipment or new educational programmes- and all the school assemblies on September 1 started with the flag-raising ceremonies.
The Day of Knowledge started with a traditional ceremonial assemblies at schools. Mayor of Perm Aleksey Demkin took part in festivities in school No 6.
– At present the sphere of education has gained a special importance in promoting patriotism. It is the school that helps build true life orientations; in schools the children learn their first lessons in civic spirit and patriotism. I am honoured to greet all teachers, pupils, students and their parents on the start of the new school year. I am confident that it will be filled with a lot of exciting things and wish all of you a successful year and good mood!– said Aleksey Demkin in his address to the teachers, schoolchildren and their parents.
The Mayor also participated in a celebration gathering at Perm State Chorography School. This renown institution was opened in 1945 and was set up on the basis of the Leningrad Chorography School that was moved to Perm during WWII. The teaching staff today includes 31 teachers of various special subjects. The Director Darya Sosnina pointed out that the high quality of education at Perm Choreography School is regularly proved by numerous successes of its graduates.
